Regulations to Guide the Awards Committee:

1. The Heinz Lehmann, Young Investigator and Innovations in Neuropsychopharmacology Research Awards shall be presented for work done primarily in Canada by Canadian Scientists. The CCNP Medal shall be presented for outstanding contributions to neuropsychopharmacology in Canada as evidenced by activities in education, administration, and/or patient care. Achievement in research is not a necessary criterion for this award. Eligibility shall include, but not be limited to, individuals from academic institutions, foundations, governmental, industrial and research organizations regardless of age or sex.



2. The decision of the Awards Committee regarding the recipients of the awards shall be final. The Awards shall be made annually but there will be no obligation to make the Awards when in the opinion of the Awards Committee there are no qualified nominees.



3. Nominations for the Awards may be made by any member of the College but no member may nominate more than one candidate for each award.



4. The Awards shall be made on the basis of contributions described in the submitted documentation.



5. Normally, the Heinz Lehmann Award will be given in odd years for basic science work and in even years for clinical work or work with direct clinical impact. The Young Investigator Award will be given in odd years for clinical work and in even years for basic science work. The Innovations in Neuropsychopharmacology Research Award will be given for either basic research or clinical research.



6. For the Heinz Lehmann, Young Investigator and Innovations in Neuropsychopharmacology Research Awards, the names of the winning candidates, their curricula vitae, brief biographical sketches, and copies of other relevant documentation shall be forwarded to the sponsoring pharmaceutical companies a minimum of six (6) weeks before the Annual Meeting of the College.

Directives servant à guider le comité des prix dans le processus de sélection:

1. Les Prix Heinz Lehmann, Jeune Chercheur et Innovation en Recherche en Neuropsychopharmacologie devront être accordés pour des travaux de recherche principalement effectués au Canada, par des scientifiques canadiens. La Médaille du CCNP devra être accordée pour une contribution exceptionnelle en neuropsychopharmacologie au Canada, ceci étant démontré par des activités en éducation, en formation, en administration et/ou dans l'amélioration des soins aux patients. Une performance exceptionnelle en recherche n'est pas un critère essentiel dans l'attribution de ce prix. Les candidatures d'individus provenant de diverses institutions académiques, hospitalières, gouvernementales, de l'industrie, de fondations et d'organisations de recherche sont éligibles pour tous ces prix et distinctions, sans égard à l'âge et au sexe.



2. Les décisions du Comité des Prix sont finales. Les divers prix et distinctions devraient être accordés annuellement. Toutefois, il n'est pas obligatoire que le Comité décerne annuellement tous les prix, s'il est d'avis qu'aucun candidat qualifié n'a été proposé.



3. Tout membre en règle du Collège peut proposer des candidats pour les divers prix. Cependant, un membre ne peut proposer plus d'un candidat par an pour chaque prix.



4. Les prix devraient être accordés uniquement sur la base du dossier présenté par le parrain.



5. Habituellement, le prix Heinz Lehmann devrait être accordé pour des recherches en sciences fondamentales lors des années impaires et pour des recherches cliniques ayant un impact évident en clinique lors des années paires. Pour le prix Jeune Chercheur, la situation inverse sera adoptée. Le prix de l'innovation en recherche en neuropsychopharmacologie.



6. Pour les prix Heinz Lehmann, Jeune Chercheur et Innovation en Recherche en Neuropsychopharmacologie, les noms des candidats retenus, leurs curriculum vitae, leurs brefs résumés biographiques et copies de tout autre document jugé approprié devraient être transmis à la compagnie pharmaceutique parrainant le prix, au minimum six semaines avant le Congrès Annuel du Collège.



7. Les récipiendaires des Prix Heinx Lehmann, Jeune Chercheur et Innovation en Recherche en Neuropsychopharmacologie seront invités à présenter leurs travaux lors de conférences qui auront lieu au Congrès annuel de la même année que celle de l'obtention du prix. Préférablement, ces communications seront présentées dans un format permettant leurs publications dans les comptes rendus du Congrès.
